GAMES AS AN EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY FOR THE INVOLVEMENT OF COMPANIONS IN PEDIATRIC PATIENT SAFETY: A QUALITATIVE STUDY

ABSTRACT Objective to describe the meaning attributed use of a game as an educational technology for involvement companions in pediatric patient safety. Method qualitative study carried out with 16 children admitted Pediatric Unit public hospital Minas Gerais, Brazil. Data collection took place from October December 2019, through semi-structured interviews, after using technology. Symbolic Interactionism was used theoretical framework and Inductive Content Analysis, method. Results playing search safety important strategy sharing knowledge co-responsibility engage actions, addition relevant contribution prevention adverse events. On other hand, professionals' overload communication problems stood barriers establishment bond among health team members and, consequently, Conclusion recognized themselves partners events highlighted some behavioral changes favor participating playful intervention. Thus, it is considered that can be interactive disseminating information family favoring increased participation these actors actions.
